Hey guys, I know it’s summer. It’s obviously HOT. We like to think that in Texas, we have the harshest heat in the country. It can get just down right boiling outside. In 2011, the Dallas/Fort Worth area had 71 days with temperatures over 100 degrees according to the National Weather Service.
I have been watching the news this week and there have been so many babies/toddlers die because they were left in a vehicle in this heat. This video was created by a police officer in Texas who wanted to show what happens when you sit in a car in direct sunlight (no shade) and the car turned off in the summertime heat. I highly recommend watching this video, it’s certainly eye-opening.
Please, don’t leave your kids (or pets, for that matter) in the car for any amount of time. Listen to what he says after 30 minutes, that he as a grown man knowing he could leave the car if he wanted to, was having a hard time staying in the car for this experiment. Imagine your child in the car strapped in, hot, scared, and not sure what’s going on or why mom or dad left them like that.
